The Dog Days
Studio Update / Summer 2019

2020 Workshops | Summer Reading | Dog Days of Summer
Right now in North America it's the hottest and most sultry time of the summer...
AKA: The DOG DAYS.
The phrase Dog Days of Summer comes from ancient astrology and refers to the warmest days of summer which coincide with the rising of the star, Sirius, also known as the “Dog Star”. Do you have any special plans for these hot and final weeks of summer? I plan to spend my remaining Dog Days painting in the studio and catching up on my summer reading.
I just finished The War Of Art by Steven Pressfield. His writings reassure me that the challenges and struggles we encounter as artists (and humans), such as creative block, lack of confidence and resistance, are common. So take comfort in knowing that we all face the same issues when it comes to our craft.

The 2020 Workshop schedule will be announced on September 10, 2019 via my next newsletter, website and social media.
In the meantime... my summer wish for you is this:
May you find your toes in the sand,
your hands in the garden,
your head in a good book
and your heart in your art.
Until next time…
burn brightly my friend.
Cheers ~ Alicia (& Daisy)
